The Fredericksburg Community Concert Band offers volunteer area musicians a professional environment to assemble and play for their mutual enjoyment, to provide cultural and educational enrichment for the community through public performances, and promote further development of musical skills in students and musicians of all ages.
The Fredericksburg Community Concert Band was formed in November 1998 to fill the musical needs of the region and to provide a venue for musicians to further their musical talents. The band has performed in a number of civic events such as the September 11th Memorial Concert, Music Under the Stars, St. William of York International Fall Festival, The Spotsylvania Stars and Stripes Spectacular, The Heritage Festival 4th of July Celebration in Fredericksburg, The Santa Train and annual Christmas and Spring amd Fall Concerts. The band is made up of approximately 65 members from the area and meets weekly to prepare to delight our community with concerts and entertaining events. The band annually awards a scholarship to a talented high school senior who is pursuing a higher education in music.
